    Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can be in a group?

Zitto supports multi-member group conversations. Group size limits are designed to maintain encryption performance and message delivery speed for all members.

    Are group messages end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. Group conversations in Zitto use per-group encryption keys. Messages are encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by current group members. Even Zitto cannot read group messages.

Can I join a group anonymously?

Yes. You join Zitto groups using your pseudonymous username only. No personal information is required or revealed to other group members.

What happens if a member is removed?

When a member is removed from a group, the group's encryption keys are rotated. This prevents the removed member from decrypting future messages.

    Can group messages disappear automatically?

Yes. Group admins can set a disappearing message timer that applies to all messages in the group. Messages are deleted from all members' devices after the chosen interval.

How do I invite someone to a group?

Zitto generates a unique invite link and QR code for each group. Share the link directly or display the QR code — anyone with it can join the group.
