How the Recovery Phrase Works
Traditional apps tie your account to an email address and use password reset emails to recover access. This model requires you to share a real identity with the service. Zitto rejects this.
When you register, Zitto generates a recovery phrase — a unique sequence of words derived from your account's cryptographic identity. This phrase is shown to you once, and only you can see it. Zitto does not store it. There is no server-side copy.
If you lose access to your device, entering your recovery phrase on any device restores your account completely. No email, no support ticket, no identity verification needed.
