What Is Ghost Mode?
Ghost Mode is a privacy feature in Zitto that makes you completely invisible to other users. When activated, your online status disappears from all contact lists and conversation headers. Other users see you as permanently offline — even when you're actively reading messages.
Unlike a simple "do not disturb" setting, Ghost Mode suppresses all presence signals at the network level. Zitto stops broadcasting your real-time activity, meaning there's no timestamp, no typing indicator, and no read receipt emitted while you're in Ghost Mode.
This is especially useful when you need to review sensitive conversations, manage multiple chats without pressure, or simply want to disconnect from social expectations without fully going offline.

Navigate to Settings from your Zitto account menu.
Find Ghost Mode
Locate the Ghost Mode toggle under Privacy & Presence controls.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ghost Mode affect message delivery?
No. You still receive messages normally — Ghost Mode only suppresses your visible presence. Messages are delivered end-to-end encrypted as usual.
Can admins see I'm online while in Ghost Mode?
No. Zitto does not expose presence data to administrators. Ghost Mode hides your status from everyone, including the system.
Does Ghost Mode disable read receipts permanently?
Read receipts are suppressed only while Ghost Mode is active. When you disable it, receipts return to their default behavior.
Is Ghost Mode available on all plans?
Ghost Mode is available to all Zitto users, including free trial accounts.
