Privacy Policy

Zitto is built on a single principle: your conversations are yours alone. This policy explains how our encrypted messaging privacy architecture keeps your data safe, anonymous, and out of reach from third parties.

    Last updated: June 2026

    End-to-End Encrypted Messaging Privacy

All messages sent through Zitto are protected with end-to-end encryption (E2EE). This means only the sender and recipient can read message content — not Zitto, not our servers, and not any third party. Our encrypted messaging privacy architecture ensures that private conversation data is never stored in plaintext and cannot be intercepted in transit.

Anonymous Accounts & Zero Personal Data

Zitto is designed from the ground up for private anonymous messaging. We do not require an email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information (PII) to create an account. Your identity is protected by a username and an offline recovery phrase — no data broker can link your account to you.

    No Tracking, No Profiling

We do not run behavioral advertising, sell user data, or build engagement profiles. Zitto contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no Facebook Pixel, and no Google Analytics. Your browsing and messaging activity stays entirely within the app and is never shared with advertisers or data aggregators.

    Minimal Server-Side Data Retention

Encrypted message payloads are stored only long enough for delivery to the recipient's device. Metadata such as message timestamps is kept to the minimum necessary for service operation. We do not log IP addresses linked to user accounts. Server infrastructure follows zero-knowledge privacy principles wherever technically feasible.

    Your Right to Delete

You can delete your Zitto account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your encrypted message history, contact list, and account record are permanently purged from our systems within 30 days. We do not retain backups of personal account data after deletion is confirmed.

    Policy Updates

When we make material changes to this privacy policy — for example, changes that affect how encrypted messaging data is handled — we will notify active users through the in-app notification system at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Zitto after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
